All day ride out to the cafe at Rivington, via Rochdale, Ramsbottom, Edgworth, Belmont and Winter Hill following the Lancashire cycleway. Approximately 75 miles. Perhaps we will have the pleasure of the piano player accompanying us as we eat our bacon and egg baps!

Some ride....very tired when I got home...I think I ran out of 'fuel'.
My heart rate was unbelieveably high too..I wonder if they confused one another?

Fantastic ride out today with the best cafe stop to date,the wind was a killer but the average moving speed was still very good considering the ascent that was covered. Great route Neil & one we should definitely do again.

Great to see there are a few coming along. See you at 9.30. Promises to be another day of sunshine and wind. I know learn that there was a major moorland forest fire near Belmont close to where my route goes so will be interesting to see how that affects plans. Also the sole of my specialised cycling shoes came away from the left shoe whilst on tour at Easter, and I have failed to buy a new pair. So will be cycling with one shoe taped up. No points for me for sartorial elegance. Time for pasta for tea.

Sorry to disappoint you Richard, although think ride from Saddleworth to New York and back in a day is feasible. That is NY in the Dales, though. Realise various folks away just wondering who is intending to come along for the Rivington ride tomorrow. Be good if you can post a comment and let me know. Please note that I set a 9.30 start for this ride. Could make it 10.00 if that suits people better. Looks like could be a windy ride.
That's a shame! I've based my whole season on the connecticut ride.
Think the map link may have gone wrong. This is not a ride to Rivington near New York or to Rivington in Connecticut.
